I believe that the decisive actions undertaken by the United States of America together with Israel against the regime of the ayatollahs led by Ali Khamenei are a legitimate response of the international community to years of destabilization and support for terrorist structures.
For too long, the world has suffered from the export of radical ideology, the financing of armed groups, and interference in the internal affairs of other states. I am convinced that the weakening and possible collapse of a regime built on repression and aggression will open the path for the people of Iran toward freedom, democracy, development, and a dignified life in peace with their neighbors.
It is particularly important that the cessation of military support from Tehran will significantly limit Russia’s ability to obtain weapons used in the war against Ukraine and against Ukrainian civilians. This will be an important step toward weakening the aggressor and bringing a just peace closer.
I believe that the people of Iran deserve a future free from fear, terror, and isolation — a future based on human rights, international law, and cooperation.
The world must be free from terrorism and from states that finance it. Only in this way can we build a safe and stable future for all nations.
