Serhii Shabovta

Security Expert at the Ukrainian Institute of Politics

Serhii Shabovta was born on July 20, 1956, in Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai, USSR. From 1971 to 1992, he progressed from a young Nakhimov cadet to Deputy Commander of a heavy strategic submarine cruiser.

He holds a higher military education, having graduated full-time from the Military-Political Academy in Moscow in 1985. For more than 25 years, he has been one of the public leaders of Ukraine’s security sector.

He is the author of numerous international projects aimed at integrating Ukraine into the European Security Branch Organizations Club, where he was elected leader three times. He is also one of the authors of the Law of Ukraine “On Security Activities” (March 2012). He has 10 years of media experience working with all major national television channels in Ukraine.
